On 21 November 2023, the second workshop was held at the CEEI Aragón in Zaragoza: “How to make a High Impact presentation?”
Nine RESOURCE pilots project attended this workshop (IberSyd – CERFO-, Platasumo – Recicla y Suma-, Bugcle, Green Foundry Castillonroy, Smartmoss, Ecohelp EWM, Feltwood, Biogas DT and Cadiuco).
Two speakers were invited, Xana Belastegui, from SwanLaab, and Javier Artiach, from CONEXO, who is also part of the RESOURCE Advisory Board.
Each one provided a presentation:
The first speaker, Xana Belastegui, explained not only the characteristics of the venture factory sector in Spain, along with the production chains or sectors to which it is associated – Agri-food tech, Food production and transformation, logistics, distribution and retail – but also the investment characteristics of its fund, who enter as main investor or co-investor. She indicated that SwanLaab invests from in Seed and early seed stages.
The second speaker, Javier Artiach exposed the main characteristics of venture capital, highlighting that unlike other funds, the clients of venture capital are not startups, but investors, so one of the main goals is the return on investment. Javier commented mentioning that it preparing the pitch deck is very important, because these funds rarely offer more than one opportunity for pitching.
He also highlighted that investor even more than assessing the idea or technology they first of all invest in “people”.
The last session of the workshop offered a matchmaking between pilots and investors.
