Our participation in the hybrid WCEF2024 accelerator session, co-organised by the European Commission’s Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the European Investment Bank (EIB), was marked by active engagement and collaboration. The event, held on 18 April from 9:30 to 15:15 CEST, served as a platform for EU cities and regions to showcase their progress in the circular transition.

Throughout the session, interactive round table discussions were conducted, focusing on the crucial aspects of governance and finance in advancing circularity. These sessions facilitated the exchange of insights and experiences among like-minded cities, regions, and partners, enabling them to learn from each other’s successes and challenges.

Participants were introduced to key advisory and support initiatives provided by the CCRI, including the EIB’s Circular City Centre (C3) initiative and the OECD’s backing for CCRI Fellows. These initiatives underscored their commitment to providing comprehensive support for cities and regions on their circular journey.

Moreover, the event featured a dedicated matchmaking session, allowing representatives from cities and regions to forge valuable connections with potential partners. This networking opportunity aimed to foster collaborations and synergies essential for driving forward the circular agenda at the local and regional levels.

The recordings of the event (part 1, part 2), along with the slides of the presentations are now available.
